We wrapped up another excellent week at Camp Canopy! But we can’t move on without sharing the exciting news of our scholarship and camper of the week winners! This year we gave out $6750 in scholarships to our campers! That’s a new record that we couldn’t have reached without the generous support of The Ohio State University, Hocking College, Ohio University, Zane State College and The Ohio Forestry Association Foundation.
Due to a tie, we had 12 campers in our top ten, with each of them scoring a 94% or better on the test! Mike Bell and Gavin Nupp took home scholarships to The Ohio State University. Jim Moore received one to Ohio University. Lucas Wildman received the Ohio Forestry Association Scholarship that he will take to the University of Eastern Kentucky. Sam Gatrell and Owen Long each received a scholarship to Zane State College, and Zach Tabor received the Hocking College Scholarship.
These students, along with Sarah Flecker, Robert Bradley, Haley Santee, Taylor Combs, and Gabrielle Dennis make up our top test scorers! Through a generous donation from the ODNR Division of Forestry, our top ten kids also received a diameter tape that they can use in the future tree-measuring endeavors!
Our campers of the week are campers who have really made an impact and who have gone above and beyond to help other students. This year Mike Bell and Haley Santee were chosen for that honor.
Congratulations to everyone and we hope to see you back at Camp Canopy next year! Don’t forget to periodically check the website throughout the year. Coming soon – pictures from this year’s camp!
Have a great rest of the summer!
